• In order to provide relief to the construction workers, the Central Government has ordered the State Governments to utilize the Building and Construction Workers Welfare Fund.

Insurance plan for health workers

The insurance scheme has been extended for a period of 1 year (from the original validity of 90 days from 30 March 2020) with effect from April 20, 2021, to cover healthcare workers helping in the fight against COVID-19. The scheme covers loss of life due to COVID-19 and accidental death due to COVID-19 related duty. In case of any incident, an amount of Rs 50 lakh will be paid to the claimant of the insured.
